Sections of two busy Wiltshire roads will close overnight for more than two months. National Highways has confirmed that stretches of the A303 and A36 near Wylye, Wiltshire, will be affected by works that are expected to run between 20 July and 30 September, with full closures in place from 8pm to 6am, says the Salisbury Journal.
On the A303, the eastbound and westbound carriageways will be closed between Chicklade Junction and Deptford Junction. The A303 entry and exit slip roads in both directions at Wylye Junction will also be closed, and there will be a 24-hour closure of laybys on the affected section.
On the A36, both the northbound and southbound exit slip roads at Deptford Junction will be shut.
National Highways said the order allows the closures to be in place for up to 18 months. However, the works are planned to be completed by 30 September.
Traffic will be diverted via other junctions of the A303 and local roads, with signs in place to guide drivers. Exemptions will be granted for emergency services, traffic officers and works vehicles.
