Works to upgrade street lighting on the M8 Junction 3 eastbound on-slip are due to commence on Monday 26 August for four weeks.
During these works, the slip road will be closed on Monday to Friday nights between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
A signed diversion route for traffic wishing to join the M8 eastbound will be in place via the A899 to Dechmont Roundabout then the A89 to Newbridge Roundabout. This is expected to add approximately 0.8 miles and 8 minutes to affected journeys.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, which will include upgrading of street lighting columns as well as the cable network.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “It’s essential for safety that we close the slip road while work takes place to upgrade the street lighting at this location. We’re grateful to road users for their patience. If you need to use this route during the works our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
