Bracknell Forest Council awards residents through the Eco Rewards app

Eco Rewards, an active travel incentive scheme, has made it even easier for Bracknell Forest residents to record their green journeys using the new Eco Rewards app.

Users can simply scan a QR code at over 80 locations across the borough whilst on a walk, run, bike ride or when using the bus or train to log your journey and earn rewards.

Active members can get access to local offers, enter prize draws and obtain cash-back and online discounts from over 2,000 retailers.

Eco Rewards launched in March 2020 and offers rewards and incentives for schools, businesses and communities in Bracknell Forest to encourage residents and students to choose greener travel and healthier lifestyle options.

So far, 335,000 green miles have been recorded through Eco Rewards in Bracknell Forest; residents hard work has saved a huge 93 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Cllr Chris Turrell, Executive Member for Transport and Planning, said: “Using Eco Rewards will not only give residents discounts at lots of online retailers, but it encourages a healthier lifestyle as well as reducing carbon emissions in the borough.

“Swapping even the shortest car journey can make such a difference. And it’s not just commuting where you can reap the rewards, new Eco Reward locations have recently been added around Horseshoe Lake, South Hill Park, Bracknell Mill Pond, Buckler’s Forest and Lily Hill Park, so you can record more of your leisure walks.”

Participants can also log their journeys by tapping an e+ card, smart tag, or rail smart card on the blue Eco Reward readers around the borough. Alternatively, you can complete an online form to log your journeys too.
