To mark the final day of Bus Users UK’s Catch the Bus Month, Lincolnshire County Council hosted a unique, one-day exhibition of a series of photographs taken at bus stops and on bus routes throughout Lincolnshire.
The exhibition took place inside the buses themselves at Temple Gardens, Lincoln and was the culmination of a month-long celebration of buses and their impact locally and nationally.
Lincolnshire County Council’s online bus information experts, Lincsbus, posted the innovative, bus-related photos on social media every day throughout September to showcase the diversity of passengers and the wide range of reasons for choosing bus. More than 60,000 people have so far seen the images online.
Mike Reed, Head of Transport at Lincolnshire County Council, (pictured), said:
“This photography exhibition celebrates the wide range of people who use buses across Lincolnshire and their many reasons for doing so. The event may be fun; however, Lincolnshire County Council is serious about investing in our bus services including real time displays, new bus shelters and value-for-money fares.”
Catch the Bus Month Campaign Lead, Lydia Horbury from Bus Users UK said:
“Lincolnshire County Council have run an incredible campaign for Catch the Bus Month and their stunning photos and videos show the huge level of support across the county for these vital services. This exhibition has been a fitting end to what has been an amazing month, celebrating the impact and benefits of bus services on the environment, on local economies and on our health and wellbeing.”
