Driverless bus vandalised at University of the Highlands & Islands’ Inverness Campus

A driverless bus at Inverness Campus has been vandalised. It is believed the vehicle was damaged over the weekend, just days before it was due was due to be trialled.

Ranald Robertson, director of HiTrans, who are rolling out the project, told the Inverness Courier: “We are very disappointed that this vandalism has occurred. This has been reported to the police and we hope to see this incident investigated and the person responsible held to account for their crime.”

The 10-seater Aurrigo Auto Shuttle electric bus will be used to transport around the University of the Highlands and Islands’ campus once operational, as reported in Highways News last week.
