ERTICO-ITS Europe and the International Transport Forum (ITF) have formalised a strategic cooperation to strengthen global dialogue on transport policy and accelerate the deployment of intelligent mobility solutions.
The partnership brings together two complementary perspectives: ITF’s role as a global, intergovernmental platform for transport policy discussion across all modes, and ERTICO’s position as a sector-neutral public-private partnership connecting industry, public authorities, service providers and research to deliver Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in practice.
Through this agreement, ERTICO and ITF establish a structured framework for collaboration across research, policy insight and innovation. Planned areas of cooperation include contributions to studies and research activities, the exchange of insights on emerging transport and ITS trends, and joint exploration of innovative technologies, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence in transport and mobility.
The partnership also strengthens joint thought leadership at an international level, with both organisations promoting shared knowledge and expertise through key global platforms and events, notably the ITS Congresses organised by ERTICO and the ITF Summit.
By aligning global policy perspectives with cross-sector expertise and deployment experience, the collaboration aims to support more coherent, evidence-based transport policies and contribute to mobility systems that deliver tangible economic, environmental and societal benefits worldwide.
