Kate Davidson MBE appointed RoadPeace CEO

RoadPeace, the national charity for road crash victims, has announced the appointment of Kate Davidson MBE as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kate will officially begin her role on 30 September bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting the bereaved.

With over 15 years of experience in the bereavement and end-of-life sector, Kate’s journey has been marked by significant achievements and leadership roles. Her career began in local government bereavement services before she transitioned to Dignity Plc, where she rose from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive in 2022.

In addition to her professional achievements, Kate serves as the President of the UK’s National Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities and is a respected tutor for the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management.

Her dedication to the bereavement community was further recognised when she was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for her services to bereaved people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kate succeeds Nick Simmons, who stepped down as CEO earlier this year after six years in the role. The organisation is grateful for Nick’s service and looks forward to the new direction and leadership that Kate will bring to RoadPeace.

Kate expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating: “I am delighted to be joining RoadPeace in the role of Chief Executive Officer at an exciting and important time of change and opportunity within the organisation.

“I have been deeply inspired by the amazing work of RoadPeace – not only their commitment to providing meaningful care and support to victims who have been terribly affected by road crashes – but also the tireless work that they do to reduce road danger for the benefit of us all.

“I am so excited to be joining RoadPeace, and in bringing my experience of leadership within the bereavement services and end-of-life care profession, I look forward to making a real difference to people with this inspirational and important organisation.”

RoadPeace is confident that Kate’s leadership will help the charity continue its vital work of supporting people bereaved or seriously injured in road crashes and engaging in evidence-based policy and campaigning work to fight for justice for victims and reduce road danger.

Petra Kendall-Raynor, RoadPeace Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kate to RoadPeace. Her vast experience and unwavering commitment to supporting the bereaved align perfectly with our mission. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our organisation and the communities we serve.”
