National Highways has announced that the M20 contraflow, implemented on the M20 between junctions 8 (for Maidstone) and 9 (at Ashford) over Easter as a contingency measure due to expected high passenger numbers, has been deactivated.
To safely remove the contraflow, M20 will be closed London bound from junction 9 to 8 and coastbound from junction 7 to 9 from 8pm on Sunday 7 April to 6am on Monday 8 April.
While the M20 is closed, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place on the A20.
NH says to remember that closure details can change at short notice. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the daily closures page. Drivers can also use this link to check the status of the Operation Brock contraflow
Once the contraflow has been removed both carriageways will fully reopen with three lanes and the national speed limit back in place.
