Record entries for DfT Special Recognition Awards

LCRIG (Local Council Roads Innovation Group) have announced that this year’s DfT Special Recognition Awards has received a record number of entries. The overwhelming response highlights the depth of innovation, collaboration, and commitment across the sector.

LCRIG says that it is particularly proud of the diverse range of submissions, representing organisations of all sizes and exciting cross-sector collaborations.

Charlotte Bromley, Head of Events at LCRIG, shared her enthusiasm:

“It is amazing to see how much the awards have grown since their inception six years ago. We are extremely proud to host them on behalf of the Department for Transport. Established by the late Steve Berry OBE, the continued importance placed on these prestigious awards – and the record number of entries received are a true testament to Steve’s legacy, which continues to inspire excellence and progress within the sector.”

In the coming weeks the finalists for each category will be revealed, with the ceremony, hosted by Highways News’ Paul Hutton, taking place in the iconic Ballroom of the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
