Women in Bus and Coach launches Midlands Region to strengthen industry network

Women in Bus and Coach has officially launched its new Midlands Region, expanding its growing national network and reinforcing its commitment to supporting and connecting women across the bus, coach and community transport sector.

The new regional network was launched at an event on Friday 20 March at the Forest of Arden Hotel, bringing together industry leaders and professionals from across the Midlands. The launch builds on the organisation’s successful London and Northern Regions, which have helped create stronger local networks, mentoring opportunities and industry engagement.

The event featured contributions from Laura Hadzik, incoming Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, Kathryn Pulham, CPT President and Director of BluClarity, Karen Tiley, Chair of the Women in Bus and Coach Midlands Region, Sally Walder, Vice Chair of the Women in Bus and Coach Midlands Region and Richard Turfitt OBE, Traffic Commissioner for the East of England.

The Midlands Region will provide a dedicated platform for professionals across the region to connect, share experiences and support career development, while promoting diversity and inclusion within the bus, coach and community transport industry.

Louise Cheeseman OBE, current Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, said:

“The launch of our Midlands Region marks another important step in the continued growth of Women in Bus
and Coach. Regional networks are vital in ensuring that women across the industry have opportunities to connect, share knowledge and support one another locally. The energy and enthusiasm we have seen from colleagues across the Midlands demonstrates just how important these networks are in helping to build a more inclusive and representative industry for the future.”

Laura Hadzik, incoming Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, said:

“Women in Bus and Coach continues to go from strength to strength, and the creation of the Midlands Region reflects the demand we are seeing from across the sector. Our regional groups are key to creating meaningful connections and supporting the next generation of leaders in the industry. I am delighted to see the Midlands network launched and look forward to working with colleagues across the region as we continue to expand our activities and support for members.”

Karen Tiley, Chair of the Women in Bus and Coach Midlands Region, added:

“It is fantastic to see such strong support for the launch of the Midlands Region. The bus, coach and community transport industry in this region is vibrant and diverse, and this new network will provide a space for people to connect, learn from each other and champion the role of women across the sector.

We look forward to building a strong and supportive community that will help inspire and empower women throughout the Midlands.”
