GRAHAM has promoted finance chief Courtney McCormick to the position of chief executive after posting record results that saw turnover break through the £1.2 billion mark for the first time, according to the company’s LinkedIn account.
McCormick, who has been the group’s chief financial officer for the past 12 years, will take over on 1 September following the retirement of long-serving chief executive Andrew Bill after more than 40 years with the business.
The leadership handover, first noted by Construction Enquirer, comes as the privately owned contractor reported revenue up 16% to £1.23 billion for the year to 31 March 2026, while pre-tax profit surged 42% to £36 million.
GRAHAM also strengthened its balance sheet with cash reserves rising to £261 million and net assets increasing to £114 million.
The contractor’s growth was driven by strong performances across its building, civil engineering, interior fit-out, facilities management and investment businesses, backed by a string of high-profile project wins.
Major successes during the year included securing a place on National Highways’ £968 million Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction Framework.
Chairman Michael Graham paid tribute to Andrew Bill’s leadership, saying he leaves the business “in a position of considerable strength.”
