The A7 south of Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway will be closed for five nights for lining work from Monday 21 October.
The project will see Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland make improvements to the standard of road markings across this section.
The A7 will be closed in both directions from 7.30pm to 6am each night.
BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager Tommy Deans said: “These new road markings will enhance safety for users of the A7. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the work being done, we have no option but to close the road while these improvements are completed.”
Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times and local access for residents within the closure points will be maintained when it is safe to pass through the work area.
