It’s reported a lower 50 mph limit could be introduced on A47 Acle Straight in Norfolk in January.
The Eastern Daily Press says National Highways has been writing to organisations, businesses and individuals in the area consulting on the changes, which it wants due to the number of collisions on the road.
It’s understood average speed cameras are also part of the safety plans.
The paper quotes figures showing that between 2017 and 2021 there were 54 crashes on the road, with 138 people hurt.
