An average speed camera scheme on one of Belfast’s busiest roads is now operational.
The cameras were installed on the A24 Saintfield Road last year but have only now been switched on.
Belfast Live says the cameras have been put in place in an effort to reduce traffic collisions on the road which saw 62 collisions in five years on the section of road covered by the cameras.
It adds that during the same period the fixed speed camera on the Saintfield Road detected more than 13,000 incidents of speeding.
