Visitors to the ITS European Congress in Lisbon are being invited to a reception on the UK stand on Monday, 22 May at 2.30pm hosted by the British Ambassador to Portugal, Chris Sainty (pictured).
The event will showcase British innovation in transport technology at Europe’s biggest Intelligent Transport Systems event of the year and is being organised by the Transport Technology Forum (TTF) and Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG).
A range of UK organisations are exhibiting at the European Congress thanks to support from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the TTF and LCRIG. These are; Zenzic, Navtech Radar, Clearview Intelligence, Nicander, Now Wireless, Angoka, Ito World, Neology, Arup, Grid Smart Technologies, See.Sense and VESOS. Members of the Department for Transport, Innovate UK and Intelligent Transport Systems UK will also be participating on the stand.
The British Embassy in Lisbon provides trade and investment services and practical support helping UK companies succeed in Portugal, and Portuguese companies set up and invest in the UK. The Pavilion’s participants have received a cost-effective way to take part, providing them an opportunity to not only showcase their innovations in road transport technology on a global stage but also make these connections and network, find potential business partners, and meet industry experts. The Embassy DBT team will facilitate introductions throughout the three days of the exhibition, supporting the development of long-term relationships between British and Portuguese organisations.

Meanwhile at 9.30 on Wednesday morning at Congress, the TTF will boost its knowledge sharing and collaboration by signing a new engagement plan with the European ITS Association, ERTICO–ITS Europe. The two organisations have consented to working together on areas of mutual interest and needs. They will also promote each other to their own networks through communications and events.
