This year’s Transport Technology Forum Annual Conference will feature 16 organisations demonstrating connected vehicle services that are either already available or very near to market.
The “TTF Live” event from 16-18 March is sponsored by the Department for Transport and taking place for the third successive year at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. This year it is featuring future technology working on nearby roads, as it couples its traditional two days of discussion with a series of real-world demonstrations which support the Department for Transport’s Connected Vehicle Services Framework and align with Local Authorities’ transport policies.
These demonstrations will show real world applications of the Connected Vehicle Services (CVS) Framework, including the use of technology to deliver safer roads for all, improve growth by reducing congestion, improve network resilience and the use of Artificial Intelligence to achieve policy aims.
The “CVS on the Road” feature will allow delegates to experience how data from roadside sensors and systems is being used to deliver messages into vehicles via an “ecosystem”. Delegates will travel by bus through simulated events on site, before travelling on Leicestershire County Council roads to experience a demonstration of services in live operation. On board they will see KL Systems’ platform, displayed on onboard screens, Kapsch’s on board unit in operation and additional services demonstrated via the Waze app. Delegates who have Waze installed on their phone should open it during the bus trip for maximum effect.
Meanwhile CVS Under the Bonnet shows the latest in Vehicle to Infrastructure technology, demonstrating how data from vehicles can be used to help operate and manage assets more effectively, improve safety in line with the Road Safety Strategy and support improved transport planning, among many other use cases. Delegates will get to meet experts behind the technology and discuss how it can help them in their day-to-day roles.

Previously, TTF connected vehicle demonstrations have taken place in dedicated days at the UTAC Proving Ground in Millbrook, Bedfordshire. However, by using the extensive road network around the conference hotel, many more industry professionals will have the opportunity to see for themselves the latest technology while at TTF Live.
The conference also includes discussions around how technology is solving road transport challenges, details of the government’s priorities and policies and the funding landscape, and share examples of best practice around digital solutions, cybersecurity and collaboration.
Working with the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG), and thanks to the support of the private sector, the TTF will again offer fully-funded places for local authority representatives from across the UK to attend the Conference.
A small number of places are still available. Visit the website to find the registration form to apply for the supply-chain places, local authority fully-funded places which include a delegate pass, hotel accommodation and catering, and the remaining sponsorship opportunities.
