Costain appointed to £1.2bn North West framework

Costian has been awarded a place by Procure Partnerships Framework on its North West Contractor Framework.

Procure Partnerships Framework support public sector organisations deliver infrastructure projects from procurement to completion. The North West Contractor Framework is managed on behalf of Wirral Council and is accessible by North West public sector bodies, including government departments, local authorities, regulated utilities, schools, housing associations, and emergency services. Effective from 1 April 2026, the framework will run for four years and has a total value of £1.2bn.

Costain has secured places on Lot 11 and Lot 12 of the framework. Lot 11 has a total estimated value of £120m and covers infrastructure projects worth between £15m and £30m, whilst Lot 12 and has a total estimated value of £144m, and covers projects worth more than £30m.

Costain will bring its experience of delivering complex engineering-led solutions in infrastructure projects across the road, rail, integrated transport, energy, water and defence & nuclear energy sectors, utilising its Manchester office as part of its strong presence in the North West.

Costain’s appointment to the framework adds to its portfolio of infrastructure projects in the region, where the company is National Highways’ delivery partner for the M60 Simister Island Interchange scheme, having previously completed the upgrade of the M6 between junctions 21 and 26a.
