Police in Scotland have caught a driver speeding at an average 126 miles per hour along a stretch of single-lane-in-each-direction road.

In a tweet it says Highlands and Islands officers stopped a VW Golf on the A835 near Maryburgh.

“It’s not a race track and it’s not just you to think about. Slow down”, the tweet reads.

The driver has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
