End of first phase of A9 road improvement programme in sight

BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is approaching completion of the first phase of works to improve road surfacing on the A9 Tomatin Dual Carriageway between Slochd and Findhorn Bridge, near Inverness.

The road improvement programme, which represents a £2 million investment, began at 7pm on Monday 13 May, and the first phase finished at 6am today (Wednesday 12 June).

The second phase of works, road marking works northbound and southbound carriageway, will restart on Monday 12 August at 7pm, lasting for 15 nights. All works are due to be completed by 6am Saturday 31 August.

To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, lane closures will be implemented in both directions with a convoy system in place to guide traffic through the works each night when the work is being undertaken. Due to the nature of the works lane closure will remain in place during the day and over the weekend. All traffic management will be removed between between the completion of the firect phase of works on 12 June and starting the second phase on 12 August.
