EV charging changes in Scotland explained at event

The ChargePlace Scotland network and Energy Saving Trust are hosting a series of online information events to explain the forthcoming transition from a public to a commercial EV charging network in the country.

ChargePlace Scotland (CPS), established by the Scottish Government over a decade ago, is entering a period of significant change. Over the next two years, the network will shift away from the current CPS model, with a stronger emphasis on commercial investment in public electric vehicle (EV) charging. As a result, Transport Scotland will not renew the existing contract to operate CPS once it expires.

This transition is designed to accelerate the growth of EV infrastructure to “meet the evolving needs of all drivers in the future”. Charge point owners are being urged to begin planning for this change, which includes finding an alternative Back-office solution.

To support charge point owners in this process, Energy Saving Trust will be hosting three webinars, providing guidance on the best path forward for organisations and their charge points.

The first session takes place on Tuesday 26 November 2024 at 10am. Register here.
