A meeting planned to discuss the draft Roads Investment Strategy has been cancelled because it falls during the run-up to the General Election.
In an email to around 70 National Stakeholders from the Department for Transport’s RIS3 Engagement Team, members are told the walkthrough event for next week has been cancelled.
It says this means the draft RIS3 document will not be published until after the election, which takes place on 4 July.
The email say that the plan is for RIS3 to be published this year, but that is subject to the views of incoming ministers.
RIS3 is the Government’s next five year funding period for the strategic road network, covering 2025 to 2030. It determines the budget for National Highways, including expenditure on intelligent transport systems.
