First of M25 J28 weekend closures start tomorrow

National Highways is moving towards the next phase of its M25 improvement work, building the new gantry base at Junction 28.

To do this safely, the agency will close Junction 28’s clockwise exit slip road for seven weekends to cause the least amount of disruptive for road users. Other options, such as putting continuous traffic management in place for several weeks, would cause more inconvenience to people at peak times.

The first two closures will be:

  • Friday 6 September 11pm to Monday 9 September 5am
  • Friday 13 September 11pm to Monday 16 September 5am

During the closure, to reach the M25 J28 interchange from the M25 clockwise:

  • continue on the M25 clockwise
  • exit at junction 29
  • return by the M25 anticlockwise to junction 28

National Highways will provide a further update when timings have been confirmed timings for the other closures.

Drivers are urged to remember that closures can change at short notice. Check the latest information on the NH daily closures page or find live travel information on the Traffic England site.
