ITS pioneer Richard Harris remembered at ITS World Congress event

A gathering has taken place at the ITS World Congress in Dubai to remember the long-serving Intelligent Transport Systems expert Richard Harris, who died of cancer in June.

The ITS Hall of Famer was internationally recognised as a leading authority on ITS and a respected thought leader on transport and mobility policies and trends.

He started his career in 1974 as a Network Co-ordinator at the AA before working in a variety of roles at the Ian Catling Consultancy, Faber Maunsell, WSP, Logica, Xerox/Conduent and HMI Technologies.

His last boss, Dean Zabrieszach of HMI/Ohmio read a message from Mr Harris’s wife Jane thanking the industry for its kind words to her since he passed away.

Friends and colleagues from across the world joined the event at the Dubai World Trade Centre ahead of the Congress, which starts today (Monday).
