ITS (UK) announces Members’ Day plans

The UK’s Industry Association for Intelligent Transport Systems is holding a special day on 25 November for members to get together and network, share ideas and find out who has won the five prestigious ITS (UK) Awards.

Hosted by Cubic Transportation Systems and also supported by White Willow Consulting and WSP, the Members’ Day will feature a tour of Cubic’s facility in Salfords near Reigate as well as a debate on reducing the environmental effects of transport and a series of short presentations from different members.

There will also be journalists attending for a series of one-to-one interviews with opinion formers.

A key part of the day will be networking as the industry gets back together in person again, while ITS (UK) President Steve Norris will announce this year’s winners of ITS (UK)’s awards in a special ceremony that will also be streamed online.

“We wanted to give members a chance to meet up and catch up on what they have developing over the past two years while we’ve only been meeting virtually,” said ITS (UK) Secretary General Jennie Martin.  “The Members’ Day is deliberately relaxed and nowhere near as formal as our ITS (UK) Summit, but we expect it to be both informative and enjoyable.  Thanks to the support of Cubic, White Willow and WSP, we can also offer it free.”

One hour in the afternoon has been designated “open house” for members to give their updates.  Each who volunteers to speak will be given a share of the time to present and answer questions.  There will then be a drinks reception before the awards at 5.30pm.

“We are really looking forward to getting the industry together again,” commented Cubic’s Global Marketing Manager Krishna Desai, who is also ITS (UK)’s Communications Director.  “We will promise them an interesting tour of our facility and then enjoy some debate and knowledge sharing – it’ll be a great day.”
