ITS (UK) members and their guests will meet in Milton Keynes on 13 October for a day of networking, debate and celebration around Intelligent Transport in the UK.
The ITS (UK) Members’ Day is hosted by Executive Members the Connected Places Catapult between 10.30 and 5pm, followed by the President’s Dinner and Awards, hosted by ITS (UK) President Steve Norris, at the nearby Jury’s Inn Hotel.
Among activities at the Members’ Day, there will be demonstrations organised by the Connected Places Catapult and a chance to see some of the innovations it has supported. There will also be a debate entitled, “Putting the Clothes Back on the Emperor” where delegates will get the chance to anonymously question perceived wisdom on future transport trends, and whether what we assume will happen, and is wanted, is actually what travellers want or will accept. Members will be able to post their questions and comments before and during the event without fear of “speaking against the narrative” and the most interesting, and possibly controversial, will be discussed.
Smart Video and Sensing and Clearview Intelligence have already signed up as sponsors of the Members’ Day, President’s Dinner and Awards, and they will also be speaking at the event. Others sponsorship opportunities are available.
There will also be a return of “Members’ Open House” where there will be time set aside for any member to speak on an ITS-related subject. This was trialled at the 2021 Members’ Day at Cubic Transportation Systems and proved to be very popular.
The President’s Dinner and Awards involves an expanded annual awards ceremony where 11 accolades will be handed out. The dinner price is £95 per person, but for every full-priced ticket, an Early Careers Professional can come along for £85. ITS (UK) hopes to encourage more young people to attend the formal dinner and get experience of this important aspect of business networking. Tables for ten are available for £850, and half-tables for five are £450. Attendance at the Members’ Day is free, although places are limited and priority will be given to those also taking part in the evening event.
Hotel rooms are available at the Jury’s Inn for a special offer £105 per room including breakfast (£115 for double-occupancy rooms). Alternative hotels including a Premier Inn and a Travelodge are nearby if attendees would prefer to book direct with them.
The Awards nominations are open now until 25 July. For the categories and entry form please click here.
