Ahead of the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium in Nottingham next week, participants have praised the event as “opportunity to catch up with industry friends and talk in detail about the advancements we are all contributing to”.
4way Consulting’s Smart Cities Sector Lead Shane Collins made the comments while promoting his company’s involvement in two speaking slots, commenting that since commencing his career in traffic signals in 2007, the Symposium has become an “annual professional highlight”.
4way Consulting is ensuring the longevity of the knowledge sharing at the Symposium, alongside six exhibitors; AGD Systems, PTV Group, Sensys Networks, smartmicro, Starling Technologies and TRL. The seven companies are together funding the videoing of the learned papers across the two days, to be made available after the Symposium is over.
In a series of short previews about their participation, they explain that the conference programme is just part of the value of the overall Symposium which also includes the exhibition and extensive networking.
Will Credicott, Marketing Manager at Traffic Group Signals describes how his company, and sister AGD Systems’ theme this year is collaboration: “We’ll be showcasing how we’re partnering with others to shape the future of traffic management,” he says. “On our stand, you can explore and ask more about our latest innovations and discover how we can work together to create a better, more connected world.” Meanwhile Michael Oliver, Technical Director at PTV Group highlights how his company will be exhibiting under the Umovity banner, featuring “a range of hardware, including cabinets, controllers and sensors” from its American partner Econolite.
New exhibitor Sensys Networks explain why they’re attracted to being at the Symposium, “To engage with our existing customers… to better understand our customer needs and also provide technical support,” says VP of Sales and Technical Support, Eric Muirugneux, while Peter Eccleson, Managing Director of smartmico UK comments that the event is “one of the most, if not the most important event in the smartmicro UK calendar, because it gives us the opportunity to network with key individuals and influencers within our industry.”
“I’ve been struck by the innovation, collaboration, generosity that this community has brought to the event and all the presentations at the last couple of JCTs” comments Andrew Caleya Chetty, CEO at Starling Technologies, with TRL Software’s Chief Technologies Chris Kettell says that he’ll not only be meeting industry colleagues but also presenting, discussing TRL’s SCOOT 8 product, showcasing “some of the work that we’ve been doing around the use of AI, specifically in relation to the traffic control and road space management problem.”
