Road surfacing and surface treatments company Kiely Bros has posted pictures of its GlassMark road surfacing solution being laid in Telford, Shropshire on behalf of Balfour Beatty Living Places.
The surface solution is crafted from 100% recycled industrial and consumer-grade glass, available in various sizes similar to traditional aggregates.
The glass undergoes a secondary process that involves mixing, colouring, and drying, rendering it ready for application. With a comprehensive Pantone matching service, the coloured product can be effortlessly applied by hand or machine in various settings, including hard shoulders, cycle paths, parking/charging bays, and pedestrian crossings.
GlassMark won the Qualifying Innovator award in the Surfacing category at the LCRIG Innovation Festival in Newark last year, winning funding and the chance to trial the product with a local authority.
