On 30 June 2022, at the Michelin Scotland Innovation Park in Dundee, a conference is being held to build collaborative partnerships for zero emission mobility manufacturing in Scotland.
Organised between Transport Scotland and Scottish Enterprise, the conference is open to companies, organisations and funders who want to rise to the challenge and seize opportunities, by innovating to meet the changing needs of the transport sector.
Building on Scotland’s strengths in manufacturing heavy and niche vehicles, this conference will highlight how the public and private sector have been working together and will pose questions for how to build on this to secure a successful future for the sector.
Open to any organisation with an interest, attendees will hear from Transport Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, The Scottish Government, Scotland Excel, The Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland.
Charlotte Taylor, who leads on Zero Emission Supply Chain work for Transport Scotland said:
“Scotland has so much to be proud of when considering our manufacturing history. The transition to zero emission mobility offers an incredible opportunity for business to maximise the benefits afforded through the transition to a zero emission economy.
“In responding to the climate emergency, government cannot deliver the changes it wants to see alone. We need a vibrant and competitive supply chain to capitalise on Scotland’s unique position to be one of the global first movers in the zero emission mobility space.
“This conference is a chance to come together, to consider the barriers to entry and to collectively consider how best to overcome them in a way that’s competitive and sustainable for the Scottish manufacturing sector.”
