Intelligent traffic solution and technology business SWARCO has held a party at its Austrian HQ to celebrate a milestone for its popular Senior Manager Richard Neumann.
Mr Neumann, who heads up the company’s communications and events, is an iconic figure seen at intelligent transport systems and highways events around the world.
The party at SWARCO’s Wattens Head Office near Innsbruck was attended by staff from the company, and featured a short video of goodwill messages from colleagues, clients and counterparts including SWARCO UK-based director Jeremy Cowling, ITS International Managing Director Andrew Barriball and Highways News’s co-owner Paul Hutton, who called him “unique in the industry – ruthlessly efficient but also the nicest person you could possibly hope to meet.”
“Being for three decades with the same company is becoming a rather rare phenomenon nowadays, but within the SWARCO family, this is something you can accomplish,” Mr Neumann told Highways News. “I was overwhelmed by the surprise party in my honour at the SWARCO TRAFFIC WORLD with the presence of Supervisory Board, Executive Board, and the colleagues in Wattens. A particularly surprising and very touching moment for me was when I watched the personal video messages from colleagues and my professional network all around the world. This is priceless and a great appreciation of my work for the company and our industry in general.”
