Marlborough Highways win Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award

Marlborough Highways has announced that it has secured the coveted Gold Award in the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) Employer Recognition Scheme. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the company, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to the Armed Forces Community.

As signatories of the AFC scheme since 2022, and Silver members since 2023, the increase to Gold status follows efforts by Marlborough’s HR and Social Value teams to strengthen its support for Service Personnel and their families. This includes the provision of flexible employment opportunities for Reservists, tailored training programmes for Service Leavers, and the creation of a positive and inclusive working environment for Veterans.

In addition to increasing its internal support for those who serve, Marlborough has actively promoted the benefits of the Armed Forces Covenant to its supply chain partners, clients, and the broader industry. This advocacy has been instrumental in encouraging other organisations to recognise and adopt the principles of the Covenant, which champion fairness, respect, and opportunity for the Armed Forces community in all areas of society.

Marlborough’s Gold status exemplifies the company’s specially tailored recruitment processes for Veterans and Service Leavers, including the company’s engagement with the Career Transition Partnership, which provides guidance and assistance to those in the military as they transition back into civilian life. Furthermore, Marlborough’s enhanced support for the Army Cadet Force underscores Marlborough’s commitment to young people, helping to equip Cadets with the knowledge and skills they need to grow and thrive.

Matthew Revell, Managing Director, Marlborough Highways, said, “At Marlborough we value the contribution of the Armed Forces Community and are grateful for the sacrifices they make on behalf of all of us. So, we are immensely proud to receive the Gold Armed Forces Covenant Award, with the recognition a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to supporting Veterans and those who continue to serve. Our dedication extends beyond our own employees; we are passionate about championing the AFC to our friends and partners across the industry, with the scheme’s amazing benefits contributing to a stronger, more inclusive society for all”.
