Messagemaker takes on Mount Olympus on behalf of the Children’s Trust

Messagemaker Displays has raised £17,036 for The Children’s Trust through its latest fundraising challenge. This year the team from the Surrey-based signage manufacturer and supplier flew out to Greece to take on a two-day trek of Mount Olympus, climbing an impressive 2,918 metres above sea-level.

Mount Olympus, the mythological seat of the gods, is one of the most challenging hikes attempted by the company to date. A group of customers also joined the Messagemaker team this year including D2D Associates Limited, Tenzing Search, Seymour Civil Engineering and Clearview Intelligence.

The group flew to Thessaloniki on 21 June before travelling to their base – the town of Olympiaki. The first day of the challenge was a 550ft climb, before stopping at the refuge overnight. Day two was an early start and the team tackled the intense 300ft of elevation up the Class III YSD-graded mountain to its summit.

In total, the team raised over £17,000 for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. Based in Tadworth, a Surrey neighbour to Messagemaker, the charity focuses on providing the children with the opportunity to live the best life possible by providing specialist rehabilitation, education and community services.

Managing Director at Messagemaker, Danny Adamson, commented: “We are so proud to have raised this amount of money for The Children’s Trust and remain incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and to our sponsors. At Messagemaker, we feel extremely passionate about giving back to the community; it’s a really important part of our culture and this was by far the hardest challenge we have taken on to date. Our thoughts are already turning to next year and what we can do to support such a wonderful charity that does amazing work.”
