Milestone Infrastructure has secured a £300m deal to deliver highways maintenance over the next five years for Wiltshire Council.
The firm will replace present delivery contractor Ringway in March, which was itself drafted in to maintain the highways network for five years after a bust-up between Balfour Beatty Living and the council in 2016, reports Construction Enquirer.
Under the new agreement, Milestone will deliver highways maintenance services to undertake a programme of maintenance and improvements on the highways and roads network or other council land. It also includes street lighting maintenance and repairs.
Milestone will also be required to reduce the carbon footprint of construction and maintenance activities over the life of the contract and consider resilience to changing conditions and extremes of weather.
