Southampton City Council has revealed plans to carry out maintenance works to over 150 roads and pavements across the city, in a programme of works lasting around 18 months
As part of a separate initiative, residents may have already seen the council’s new Pothole Patrol teams out and about in the city completing works. These teams are being funded through an additional £830k, which was allocated to establish a network of dedicated pothole repair crews across the city.
Councillor Jeremy Moulton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Growth, commented: “This list of roads is just the very start of a wider multi-million-pound programme which will deliver repairs to over 150 roads and pavements across the city by April 2023.
“I hope that this announcement will encourage residents and send a resounding message that we are delivering on our promise to Get Southampton Moving.”
