The MP for Great Yarmouth says he will fight plans to scrap the £50m Vauxhall roundabout upgrade in the town after the Chancellor said the scheme did not provide “clear value for money”.
The BBC quotes Reform’s Rupert Lowe as telling the Local Democracy Reporting Service: “The new Vauxhall roundabout scheme has been axed by this atrocious Labour government – clearly this has repercussions for dualling the Acle Straight.
“More sensible public investment has been sacrificed, punishing the hard-working people of Great Yarmouth. It is unacceptable.”
It was one of five National Highways schemes scrapped as part of the budget.
