Networking opportunities “key” to JCT Traffic Signals Symposium success

The organisers of the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium which takes place in Nottingham next month say the networking social gatherings on the Tuesday and Wednesday evening remain a key part of the overall event.

The Symposium brings together the UK’s leading experts in traffic management to discuss the latest technology and see more than 30 companies exhibiting their latest innovations.

“The papers and exhibition are, of course, central to the Symposium, but I don’t think it’d be half the event it is without our networking evenings,” explained event organiser John Nightingale (pictured).  “We have the welcome barbecue on the Tuesday night sponsored by Highways News and the traditional Yunex Traffic gala dinner on the Wednesday preceded by the Swarco Drinks Reception where the industry gets together and an awful lot of interesting knowledge sharing takes place in a relaxed social setting.”

Both nights feature free refreshments thanks to the support of a consortium of exhibitors who fund the evenings’ drinks.  These are: Aimsun, ARTSM, NAL, Swarco, SRL & TRP

The Symposium kicks off on Tuesday 13 October with the MOVA User Group, which is free to attend thanks to the Partners : Yunex Traffic, TRL Software, Telent, Swarco, SRL, PTV JCT & Chris Kennett.  It is followed by the Highways News barbecue in the evening.  The main symposium presentations take place on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October, with the exhibition right outside the lecture theatre.  Both the barbecue and the Yunex Traffic gala dinner are held at the event venue at Nottingham Trent University.

Hotel rooms for the event are being snapped up quickly, so the organisers urge would-be delegates to book as soon as possible so they can take advantage of preferential rates in Nottingham city centre.
