Police Scotland Safety Cameras are beginning enforcement of the temporary average speed cameras on the A82 in an effort to improve road safety and encourage better speed compliance.
The Jenoptik-made technology is being deployed on a temporary basis following an increase of speeds and injury collisions on the A82 between Luss and Tarbet near Loch Lomond.
The new technology employed in these cameras make use of renewable energy using a combination of solar and bio-methanol sources. They are powered by off-grid sources which enables the technology to be deployed at locations previously inaccessible for fixed infrastructure.
The same technology was also implemented at the beginning of the month on the A836 between Reay and Thurso.
Speeds and injury collisions on the road will continue to be monitored during this period.
