New transport director appointed at West Yorkshire Combined Authority

The Mayor of West Yorkshire has strengthened her senior leadership team following the appointment of a new transport director.

Tim Taylor will join the West Yorkshire Combined Authority as Director of Transport Services later this month, overseeing areas including customer services across the region’s bus stations, M-card payment systems, concessionary travel and all information channels.

In his current role as Director of Public Transport Operations at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Tim has led on the implementation of travel concession for young people and programmes of bus network reform.

Tim also spearheaded South Yorkshire’s response to Covid-19 as Director of Customer Services and brings with him a wealth of experience in organisational change and strategic planning.

Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin said: “I’m delighted that Tim will be joining our senior team at such an exciting time, with plans for mass transit and bus reform underway.

“Tim’s extensive experience and knowledge will be invaluable in helping deliver my key pledges on transport, as we continue building a better-connected region that works for all.”

Simon Warburton, Executive Director for Transport at West Yorkshire Combined Authority, said: “Tim’s expertise will be crucial in our ambition to improve the transport network in West Yorkshire.

“I’m looking forward to working closely together to deliver for communities and business across the region.”
