Newline Highways marks major expansion with first H4a temporary VRS installation

The highways maintenance firm Newline Highways has completed its first installation of a H4a temporary vehicle restraint system.

The work on the A38 at Alfreton in Derbyshire involved working with manufacturer DELTABLOC to deliver the containment system to protect road users and the network itself.

“This didn’t come easy,” Newline’s Business Development Manager Ben Turner told Highways News.  “We overcame wind, rain and snow to get the barrier in place, but it was made possible with a can-do attitude and a lot of detailed planning and collaboration – and not a single complaint, just graft from start to finish.”

The work, in National Highways Area 7, was delivered for principal contractor Amey Highways.

“Working shoulder-to-shoulder with DELTABLOC UK, the team overcame tight site constraints to deliver a safe, compliant db120 H4a temporary containment system, with Ermes 110 Crash cushion, all with one goal in mind: protecting road users and the networks assets,” Mr Turner continued.  “This is a major step in our company’s expansion as we deliver a greater range of safety solutions onto the network.  People may know us as Newline Fencing, but we changed our name to Newline Highways for a reason – because we’re delivering so much more critical support onto our roads, from VRS, parapets and general fencing to civils and suction excavators.”
