The New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) has appointed three new Trustees – Bill Jackson, Julian Drinkall and Natasha Rothbucher-Thomas – marking a significant milestone as the institution builds on a year of record growth and national recognition.
The appointments come as NMITE continues to expand student numbers, launch new courses and develop its pioneering Centres for Advanced Timber Technology and Automated Manufacturing. Together, the new Trustees bring deep expertise across sustainability, education reform, governance and industry leadership, reinforcing NMITE’s mission to deliver a new model of work-ready, future-focused engineering education.
With experience spanning the BBC, international education networks, sustainable construction research and regional economic development, the new Board members will help guide NMITE’s next phase – strengthening industry partnerships, embedding sustainability at its core, and positioning the institution as a national leader in engineering education innovation.
James Newby, President and Chief Executive Officer of NMITE, said:
“This has been a transformational year for NMITE – record student numbers, new courses, and growing recognition for our innovative model of engineering education. The addition of Bill, Julian and Natasha to our Board strengthens our leadership as we enter our next chapter. Each brings not only professional expertise but also a commitment to NMITE’s mission of creating the engineers and problem-solvers the world needs.”
