Norfolk’s Acle Straight set for speed limit cut and average speed cameras

National Highways is looking to introduce a 50 mph limit and speed cameras onto the A47 Acle Straight in Norfolk.

The BBC says National Highways wants the changes due to the number of collisions on the road.

It quotes a spokesperson as saying: “We’re always exploring ways to make our roads safer by using collision data, risk assessments and insights to better understand driver behaviour.

“This route has been selected due to the number of collisions and the potential for future incidents.”

The Eastern Daily Press says that between 2017 and 2021 there were 54 crashes on the road, with 138 people hurt.
