Autonomous vehicle software company Oxbotica has appointed Andreas Mavroudis as Commercial Development Director.
The company says Mr Mavroudis will be “instrumental” in ensuring global uptake of two of its core products: Oxbotica MetaDriver™ and Oxbotica Cloud™.
Oxbotica MetaDriver is a suite of tools that includes virtual world simulation, automated discovery of challenging scenarios, and real-time data expansion, while Oxbotica Cloud seamlessly connects autonomous vehicles to customers’ existing fleet management platforms, enabling them to integrate AV into their operations and harness its benefits—without replacing existing systems.
Mr Mavroudis joins the company having previously led Aviva’s Future Mobility strategy and held advisory positions across numerous technology-based start-ups.
“It’s a huge honour to be part of this amazing organisation,” he said. “The work already done on creating a Universal Autonomy™ solution is an incredible foundation to work from. The insurance sector is going to be hugely important for us and will play a key role in the deployment of autonomous software.
“With Oxbotica MetaDriver, we can use the ‘metaverse’ and virtually deploy a vehicle in any domain, drive hundreds of miles and detect rare and unusual scenarios 1,000 times faster than actual driving. Not only does this save time and money, but it can also save lives.”
Richard Jinks, VP Commercial at Oxbotica, added, “Oxbotica is unlocking the benefits of self-driving vehicles to every person and every organisation on the planet. Andreas shares our vision for Universal Autonomy and boasts an impressive track record of growing technology companies; he’ll be a valued member of our team.”
