RingGo by Arrive has announced the launch of its new Scan & Pay solution at Elmsleigh Shopping Centre Car Parks in Staines-upon-Thames, with the new service starting to roll out later this week.
Already trusted as the service provider for car parks across Spelthorne borough, the deployment of Scan & Pay adds pay-on-exit parking payment capabilities into the same app motorists are already using to park across Staines, raising the bar for convenience and ease of use.
The RingGo Scan & Pay solution leverages advanced ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras to seamlessly capture a vehicle’s registration as it approaches the entry barriers. Once the registration is captured, the barrier automatically opens, allowing drivers to enter and park effortlessly. When they’re ready to leave the car park, drivers have the choice to pay for their parking using the RingGo app; all they have to do is enter their vehicle registration number, pay for their stay and then the barrier will automatically raise when they exit.
Key benefits for Drivers
- Fast & Convenient: Skip the queues at pay machines and forget about searching for loose change. With the RingGo app, users can pay for parking when they’re ready to leave, making the process quick and hassle-free.
- Stress free parking: There’s no need to estimate how long you’ll stay. Drivers pay on departure rather than on arrival; you simply use the RingGo app once you’re ready to leave. It’s a more flexible way to park, giving you complete control over your time.
- Contactless & Secure: Payments are processed directly through the same RingGo app millions of drivers already know and trust. Drivers can only pay using the RingGo app they have downloaded from the app store or using cash or card at the physical payment terminals. Any other payment methods using QR codes or web addresses are not part of the Scan & Pay system and should not be used.
The new system will offer a range of new, digital-led technologies and integrations to enhance the driver experience. Paying with the RingGo app will incur an additional fee to support the convenience features available through the service. Visitors will continue to be able to pay using the physical ticketless payment machines.
Christopher Head, Regional Director for the UK & Ireland at Arrive, said:
“Removing the hassle from parking is at the heart of what we do at Arrive. This launch adds Elmsleigh Shopping Centre to a quickly growing list of UK shopping centres to feature our latest Scan & Pay technology, offering residents and visitors one of the most advanced off-street parking payment systems in the country.
“The service puts a pay station in every pocket and breaks down the barriers to simpler parking. Not only will this solution bring convenience and ease to drivers, it will also further support the council’s digital ambitions and help them make data-driven decisions to continue improving experiences.”
