The chief executive officer at SRL Traffic Systems, Richard Tredwin, has been named as a regional finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year UK programme.
It is the first time that a senior figure from the company has been entered into the awards, which honour the achievements of the UK’s top entrepreneurs across many sectors, including technology, consumer and health sciences.
SRL manufactures and supplies portable and temporary ITS equipment and integrated systems to the traffic management, construction, events and utilities sectors.
Lynn Rattigan, EY’s chief operating officer for the UK & Ireland and EY Entrepreneur of The Year UK Partner Sponsor, said, “This year’s finalists are truly inspirational. At a time when many businesses have had to rapidly respond to the challenges posed by the pandemic, these entrepreneurs have shown they can innovate and adapt while also creating long term value for their clients and broader stakeholders. I’m delighted to welcome this year’s regional finalists to our entrepreneurial community and look forward to seeing their continued success.”
Richard Tredwin, added, “I am honoured and humbled to be part of this prestigious programme and to be among a selection of inspiring business leaders who are making a positive impact on the economy, whilst responding to the continued challenges posed by Covid-19. I am personally driven to make a real difference to SRL and to help bring out the very best in the incredible team of people who make up the SRL family. I’m so proud of what we have achieved as a business and it’s so rewarding to be recognised for this.”
The regional winners will be selected in June and these entrepreneurs will then represent their region at the UK judging in October. The EY Entrepreneur of The Year UK overall winner will be announced in November and will go on to represent the UK at the ‘EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year’ in 2022, which recognises inspiring entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries.
