The Tarmac Kier Joint Venture (TKJV) team have been recognised for their inspiring volunteering efforts.
The TKJV team who work on our highways maintenance contract for Barnet Council took home the volunteer team of the year award at the The Jewish Volunteering Network awards, earlier this month.
Since October 2024, a member of the team spends every other Friday morning with Volunteers on Wheels. With their van, they collect surplus food from The Felix Project which they then deliver to two local foodbanks, East Finchley and NW7 Hub, who support hundreds of families in the London Borough of Barnet. They also deliver to Project ImpACT who cook meals in the Jewish Vegetarian Society kitchen for local families.
“More than 20 members of the team have supported so far, going above and beyond to support the communities we work in,” said a TKJV spokesperson. “We’re proud to be part of such a great partnership. A huge thank you to Volunteers on Wheels for nominating us, and congratulations to everyone involved.”
