The tendering for Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) Transport Professional Services contract will be extended due to ‘the exceptional circumstances facing the supply chain,’ according to a voluntary ex ante transparency notice issued yesterday.
The authority said that in response to the results of bid readiness surveys, with applicants who had expressed an Interest by way of submitting an SSQ and subsequently those shortlisted for ITT, the authority had: “no option but to delay the re-procurement and consequently extend the tender period to allow all bidders sufficient time to resource the process adequately and therefore be in a position to submit tenders.”
“Therefore, the existing framework (TPS 2016) will be extended beyond it’s (4yr) expiration date for 6 months to 28 Feb 2021 to provide the TfGM and the participating authorities with a route to market allow the supply chain to recover sufficiently so that it is again able to equally participate in the Tender for TPS 2020,” said the notice.
TfGM is looking to award consultants contracts for the supply of transport professional services over a four-year period. There are nine strategic lots and specialist slots also.
Work under the contract includes; transport systems, intelligent transport, transport strategy, consultancy services and transport surveys and datacolelction.
