Due to an improved forecast, traffic returned to the A83 Rest and Be Thankful under convoy at 10:30am today..
The short Old Military Road local diversion had been in use as a safety precaution from midnight on Monday 26 August due to heavy rain, ensuring that the public were able to travel to and from Argyll safely and with minimal delays.
BEAR Scotland, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland, will continue to monitor the situation, and are planning to return to traffic light control on this section of the A83 early afternoon as the weather improves further.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The use of the Old Military Road again proved to be very successful, ensuring that residents and visitors could continue to access Argyll throughout the very wet period.
“We thank road users for their patience.”
