Road safety systems company Truvelo UK has received re-accreditation of its SafeContractor status. This follows an external audit of all aspects of the company’s operations.
“SafeContractor has become a must-have for organisations that operate in the environments that we do,” says Paul Barnett, Installations Manager.
“Being a part of it means several things. It means that we have outside validation of — in the first instance — our financial probity. It also provides affirmation of our understanding of and compliance with the latest legislation, that our training programmes for all staff are in line with meeting those rules, and that we can operate safely in live traffic environments.
“Most of all, it provides customers and potential customers with peace of mind — independent assurance of the company’s ability to provide quality services to agreed standards.”
The company says that in recent years it has worked hard to establish and expand the range of civil engineering services it provides to the road safety sector. Originally, this encompassed 24/7 installation and servicing of its own red light and speed enforcement cameras but has been expanded.
The company now provides all types of surface and kerb modifications and upgrades, as well as thermoplastic road markings. A rapid response service is offered in the case of damage caused by traffic incidents or vandalism. In the parking and access control sectors, services offered include the fitting and commissioning of loop and ANPR camera-controlled barrier systems, and the supply and installation of destination electric vehicle charge-points.
Truvelo adds that concurrent Highway Electrical Registration Scheme approval, meanwhile, means that as well as technology and street furniture, Truvelo’s civils team can install power and data connections which are guaranteed to be standards-compliant — loop installation includes the highly precise +/- 5mm cutting and positioning accuracy needed for piezoelectric sensors. A full consultancy/design service is provided for all types of work, providing further assurance of the latest standards compliance.
