The themes for the Transport Technology Forum’s Autumn Update on 12 November have been set, focussed on informing local authorities and suppliers with the latest on government policy.
The one-day event in Birmingham will hear from senior members of the Department for Transport, including Traffic Technology Deputy Director Anthony Ferguson , Dr Michaela Nelson, Head of Future Telecoms and Digital, and ITS Policy Lead Darren Capes, who’ll be discussing the Traffic Signals Obsolescence Grant and Green Light Fund one year on.
There’ll also be updates on the TTF Working Groups, covering Connected Vehicles, Urban Traffic Management and Control, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, Parking and Digital Traffic Management Orders.
The TTF’s role in promoting UK technology at the ITS World Congress in Dubai will also be discussed, as will the UK’s hosting of the 2027 event in Birmingham plus data for road safety, UTMC and the Digital Controller Interface Specification, and the update of the Management of Electronic Traffic Equipment Code of Practice.
The event is sponsored by Appyway, and supported by exhibitors Aimsun, Clearview Intelligence, RTEM Ltd, Simplifai Systems, Starling Technologies, TRL, VivaCity and Yunex Traffic.
“The Autumn Update is an important event for the TTF allowing us a two-way conversation with local authorities and the supply chain to update them on the important work the TTF does and make sure we’re supporting them in the best way we can,” commented LCRIG CEO Paula Claytonsmith who is leading the organisation of the event. “As well as updating on the latest policies, we will have plenty of time for people to ask questions. It is definitely a must attend and we are looking forward to seeing many local authorities join us.”
