The Department for Transport’s Connected Vehicle Services Framework takes centre stage at the Transport Technology Forum Live event in Leicestershire next month, as the public and private sector get together to discuss delivering connected services in an open, shareable way.
The three-day event at the Leonardo Hotel, Hinckley Island from 16-18 March features a series of presentations around the infrastructure-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure services that are expected to be provided to road users and operators in the future by harnessing vehicle and infrastructure data. These presentations include a summary of the informal consultations undertaken over the last few months, plus a discussion of how to support the adoption of connected services and feedback from local authorities on their views around implementing connected services.
The TTF Live event brings together the traditional TTF Conference alongside a series of real-world, here-and-now demonstrations of connected technology and data both on the hotel’s perimeter road and, thanks to the co-operation of Leicestershire County Council, on the roads of Hinckley itself, which will take place on Wednesday 18 March. There will also be live demonstrations of connected vehicle data services and a consultative session with local authorities and the supply chain giving their views on what is required to turn the ideas into reality.
The event is sponsored by TPXimpact, and its Transport Lead Michael-Jordan Faucher-Folie will discuss “what transport can learn from the rest of government”, while the conference also hears from AECOM, Yunex Traffic and WSP. TTF Live also features networking events and an exhibition of the latest technology from Brightly, Clearview Intelligence, elastic, Indra Group, Messagemaker Displays, Mobile VMS, NAL, NIRA Dynamics, OpenWeather, Q-Free, Rennicks, Roadside Technologies, Simplifai Systems, SRL Traffic Systems, Standby Group, SWARCO, TagMaster UK, Teledyne FLIR, TRL, VivaCity, and Westcotec.
Working with the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG), and thanks to the support of the private sector, the TTF is again offering fully-funded places for local authority representatives from across the UK to attend the Conference.
