UK Consul General urges British firms to seize transport opportunities in the US

The United Kingdom’s Consul General for six states in Southeastern USA has told British businesses at the ITS World Congress in Atlanta that there’s a real opportunity for them to work with firms based in the region, especially in transport.

Rachel Galloway was speaking at a reception at her residence in Atlanta for UK delegates and other guests attending the ITS World Congress, including staff from exhibitors on the UK and ERTICO – ITS Europe Pavilion: AGD and its sister company MAV Systems, Immense, Intelligent Instruments, Navtech Radar, Nicander and Zenzic.

“I think there’s a real opportunity for United Kingdom businesses and US businesses to work together, and I think there’s nowhere that’s a greater example of that than in transport, because what’s happening in this industry is so exciting,” Mrs Galloway told the guests.  “The companies that are here and have been at the ITS World Congress are just some of the most dynamic, interesting, innovative companies out there.”

Mrs Galloway (pictured) explained how her team is responsible for building bridges between this region of the United States and the whole of the United Kingdom.

“I just think there’s so much opportunity over the next few years to build those relationships, so talk to us, find out, let us know how we can help you continue to build those relationships and looking forward over the next couple of years.”

The reception looked ahead to when the West Midlands hosts the 2027 ITS World Congress at Birmingham’s NEC.  A team from Transport for West Midlands has been working with ERTICO to talk about opportunities for exhibitors and partners at this major global event that takes place between 25 and 29 October 2027.
